Carrie Hampton...who is she?





Carrie’s claim to fame is that as a professional travel writer, she has been to more game reserves and safari lodges than anyone else in the world (probably)! To date it’s about 250 African safari lodges to write articles, blogs, websites and do reviews on them for her blog www.safaritart.com



At the same time as freelance travel writing, Carrie was for 10 years a Star Rating Assessor, visiting every kind of guest accommodation, from self-catering apartments to 5-star hotels, and rating them.


Her experiences as a guest and her knowledge of travel and hospitality, creates the best combination to assist guest house owners in giving the best possible experience to their guests and make them want to come back for more! After so many travels, Carrie really knows what a guest wants, which is not always what they get!




Fresh Eyes Inspection was born after Airbnb came on the accommodation scene and star rating didn’t work for this range of less formal places to stay. These new accommodation hosts still needed guidance and standards to work from, as many have no experience in hospitality, but without the strict rules of star rating. Carrie has used her Fresh Eyes method for many years on over 50 Airbnb’s in the Cape Town area and since she can only be in one place at a time, decided to share it as an online course.
